BLANCO wins the 2012 KBCULTURE Award in the sink category for its stunning CRYSTALLINE sink citing innovation and artistic design. In addition, an honorable mention was given to the BLANCO CERANA apron front reversible fireclay sink. KBCULTURE offers a popular and selective review of the products, places and perspectives central to kitchen and bath design. With an international following from consumers, homeowners and editors, the site is produced by Leslie Clagett, a well-known industry editor and author of The New City Home and The Smart Approach to the Organized Home. Judging along with Clagett was Alice Liao, executive editor and writer of K+BB Magazine.
The winning CRYSTALLINE offers a sliding glass cutting board, which neatly conceals the stainless steel basin and also converts them into a handy workspace for meal preparation. The sink comes in black and white and is perfect for the compact kitchen.
“CRYSTALLINE’s use of glass gives the sink a very distinctive, contemporary look,” states Leslie Clagett, founder and judge of the annual KBCULTURE Awards. “It would be great if the CRYSTALLINE countertop drain-control mechanism takes hold in the US market.”
The CERANA apron-front fireclay sink with two different radii, caught the attention of the judges for its many unique abilities.
“A reversible sink-such an imaginative concept. The green potential raised by the two-in-one design is though-provoking,” adds Clagett.
Past winner includes The BLANCO CULINA faucet, which won the 2011 KBCulture Award in the faucet category.
