A study of functionally stunning circles, its integrated accessories save counter space and offer effortless 360 degree performance for food preparation.

With its unique round shape and versatile accessories, it’s easy to see what makes BLANCO RONIS the ultimate culinary entertainment center. Perfect for any party, this generously sized one-piece sink features BLANCO’s innovative MicroEdge technology, which gives the sink a seamless, flushmount look, and includes an accessory tray which effortlessly floats in the inside rim of the sink, a glass cutting board with non-slip rubber feet and two round stainless steel bowls. The integrated accessories rotate in a complete 360 circle to allow for limitless preparation options.

Winner of the prestigious international iF award for product design, RONIS offers a strikingly steep bowl wall in combination with a concise base radius and large bowl diameter. All of this impressive technology adds up to an extra-large usable space, even for bulky items – a highly unique feature for an attractive round bowl.

“The RONIS is the ultimate party companion,” states Tim Maicher, Director of Marketing for BLANCO. “This is a sink without limits. A real entertaining sink for real people. It has so much more depth and functionality than your average bar sink offers. In a small apartment – it could actually be the kitchen sink for people who have a passion for entertaining. It’s large enough to accommodate everyday use, and the integrated cutting board and bowl bridge saves precious counter space when prepping for a party or just for dinner.”

RONIS is a highly efficient preparation station: the integrated accessories offer a wide variety of uses because their position can be rotated 360 degrees as needed. This applies to the glass cutting board as well as the functional bridge with two stainless steel bowls which can be placed underneath. (One stainless bowl is solid and the other is perferated, so it can double as a serving bowl or colandar.) Both accessories are suitable as beautiful serving pieces outside the sink.

About MicroEdge – the most award-winning sink technology!

MicroEdge represents the first breakthrough in stainless steel sink design since the introduction of the undermount sink more than 10 years ago. BLANCO MicroEdge technology is now the most awarded sink technology of the year, having also won recognition from the Good Design Awards, iF Awards, Red Dot Design Awards, Interior Design’s Best of Year (Winner), Professional Builder 100 Best New Products Award and K+BB Product Innovator Award.

MicroEdge is a sleek overmount sink technology that creates the illusion of an expensive flushmount installation. Designers and homeowners can now achieve the highly coveted flush look for less time and money as MicroEdge can be installed over virtually any counter material. MicroEdge’s unique ultra-fine (1.25 mm) rim gives this sink its near seamless edge – a precision finish so demanding, only BLANCO could make it a reality. The MicroEdge top-mounted sinks can be positioned easily and secured with mounting clips or alternatively, can be installed as a traditional flushmounted sink by an experienced solid surface specialist.

This week, BLANCO exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. ICFF is a global summit for what’s next in design. This assemblage of national and international exhibitors affords the chance to experience the most selective scope of the globe’s finest, most creative, individual and original avant-garde home and contract products -  temptingly showcased in one venue. Over four days, ICFF plays host to 24,000 design professionals including interior designers, architects, developers, facility managers, wholesalers, hotel and restaurant designers as well as the general public who attends the last day of the show. BLANCO used this platform to launch the brand to interior designers and architects – many who were experiencing elements such as SILGRANIT® II and SteelArt® for the very first time.

BLANCO featured their newest innovations including the award-winning SOLON™ composting system and RONIS™ entertainment sink. SOLON offers designers more than a composting unit – many commented on its flexibility for use as a waste system as well. RONIS is a smart kitchen solution, not just for the bar area. Its smaller size and integrated/space-saving accessories make it viable as a main sink for New York City kitchens.

The LINUS™ and LEVOS™ faucets were well-received demonstrating the wide range of new faucet options available to designers within BLANCO’s line. Many designers were attracted to the sophisticated look of SILGRANIT® II in anthracite as well as the hand crafted elegance of FLOW™’s MicroEdge™ technology and ARCON™’s shapely curves. PRECISION™ 16″ sinks were also a quiet draw as designers noted the clever use of space and the need for sinks that would allow more room in back for faucets.

“SILGRANIT II was clearly a big hit with designers,” states Tim Maicher, Director of Marketing for BLANCO. “They were pleasantly surprised to learn more about our expanded color palette and the versatility it offers from sleek anthracite to the warm neutral of the new biscotti. BLANCO truly has the breadth of line to match every possible surface element. Designers also commented that they weren’t aware that BLANCO had so many prestigious awards including the Red Dot, Good Design and iF awards.”

BLANCO has launched its 2010 advertising campaigns to run in Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Metropolis, Interior Design, Kitchen & Bath Design News and Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications. These three new ad messages capture the essence of what consumers and designers are looking for today in sink designs. 1) Individual style. The ARCON™ sink is at once modern and traditional – a blend of soft arches and sophisticated straight lines that says I’m uniquely different – and I go where I want to go. 2) Individual color. Sinks don’t have to always be stainless. They can be warm, hot or cool too! Create your own look with the palette of six SILGRANIT® II sink colors that coordinate with today’s popular surfaces. 3) Buy more than just a sink. Everyone wants more. More quality. More style. More options. When what you want is more sculpture than a bowl to hold water.  When it takes 48 steps and 30 artisans to create one spectacular sink from a single sheet of stainless. Then that’s more than a sink. That’s a design statement. That’s BLANCO SteelArt®.

BLANCO's stunning ARCON is about individual style as captured in this new ad concept.

2010 SILGRANIT II ad shows off the hot, cool new color: biscotti

This SteelArt ad really plays off of what it means to be more than just a sink. It's a BLANCO.

A biscotti faucet - like jewelry for the kitchen.

BLANCO biscotti is kitchen jewelry you can use everyday.

BLANCO recently held a promotion to launch biscotti  – an exciting new SILGRANIT® II sink and coordinating faucet color. Biscotti is THE new neutral that complements stone surfaces from grey to brown. BLANCO mailed out biscotti chip samples along with an invitation to enter to win a gift card from Tiffany & Co. We selected the gift cards from Tiffany’s to represent that SILGRANIT II is more than just a material, it’s fashion! And BLANCO’s color-coordinated faucets are like jewelry for your kitchen.

Four winners were selected from more than 360 entrants into the contest. Kathy Fisher of SPS Companies was the grand prize winner with a $3,000 gift card. Sheryl Doyle of The Plumbery, Sheila McKeta of Ferguson and Adrien Winger of Kitchen Art won gift cards valued from $250 to $1,000. Thank you to everyone who entered online through the blog or at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago. (And hey, anyone need a personal shopper… we’re in.) Biscotti is now available to order for the rest of us who didn’t win yet still want jewels we can use everyday.
