BLANCO also received a design award recognition from KBCulture for our SOLON Composting System.
Here’s a few scenes from K/BIS… More to come. BLANCO was certainly in the spotlight.
Made from the highest grade recycled stainless steel, SOLON effortlessly collects organic waste below the counter and its stunning design allows homeowners to beautifully incorporate green living into their kitchen. Winner of the prestigious international iF award for product design, SOLON installs conveniently next to sinks and its minimalist, elegant style makes it suited to any decor. Simple to clean and dishwasher safe, BLANCO SOLON fits into any countertop with a virtually seamless appearance. SOLON’s attractive lid offers a hygienic seal that contains odors.
“The SOLON ingeniously collects egg shells, vegetable peels, coffee grounds and more,” states Tim Maicher, Director of Marketing for BLANCO. “People are so intrigued with composting, but they don’t want a bulky container taking up valuable space and they are afraid of odors. SOLON traps odors inside and integrates seamlessly with the counter so you hardly know it’s there. It’s an eco-friendly way to bring the beauty of BLANCO from the kitchen to the garden. It’s also incredibly easy to install in any countertop. We have a drop-in design that can go anywhere and a flush option for stone tops. You don’t have to re-do your kitchen to incorporate composting into your life.”
SOLON Details:
- 7-1/2” wide by 8” deep
- Holds 192 oz. (1.5 gallons) liquid
- Installation inset or drop-in – the SOLON can be undermounted or top-mounted
- List Price: $595.00
“BLANCO’s efforts for the protection of the environment go far beyond developing innovative products like our new SOLON Composting System or HYDRA water-saving faucet,” says Tim Maicher. “We believe that our overall focus must be sustainable and intensive beyond any legally required standard. To achieve this goal, we use the latest energy-saving exhaust air technology, returning heat energy back to the production process. Water consumption in our overall process was reduced 50% by installing water-cooling technology, and we continue to reduce production scrap by using the highest quality raw materials, computer-controlled mixing machines, optimized processes and production facilities. We also do not use CFC- and CHC-chasteners. In addition, we proudly achieved a permanent and significant reduction of oil consumption and CO2 emission in our facilities and we purposefully purchase from ecological evaluated suppliers.”
SOLON launches this week at K/BIS.
BLANCO will hold a Twitterthon at the upcoming Kitchen and Bath Industry Show next week in Chicago, IL. Within BLANCO’s trade show booth (S2224) attendees will find “Tweet Spot” signs to point out key product launches. For every tweet, update or blog about these products during the show (April 16-18) – BLANCO will donate $1 to Windy City Habitat for Humanity. We’re thrilled to be working with such a worthwhile organization! If you are planning on coming to the show – set your smart phone to stun! (We always wanted to say that…) Or use one of the computers in our booth to log on and tweet away. There’s lots to tweet about in the BLANCO booth this year. We are launching a new SILGRANIT® II color; new green product innovations including a water-saving kitchen faucet and an award-winning composting system; newly designed pull-out faucets; new pot fillers; an award-winning new MicroEdge™ entertainment sink and new SteelArt® and value pro series faucets. Exciting news! Want a sneak peak at the new products BLANCO will launch at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in April? Then check out our new 2010 BLANCO Showroom, Consumer and SILGRANIT® II literature collection – available right now via true e-brochure format. Click on the links in this article or from the navigation tab above marked e-brochures to view, download, share and enjoy!
The new 2010 Literature Collection:
SHOWROOM CATALOG: Our new showroom catalog features ARCON™ on the front cover. It is a truly powerful sink design that works well in any décor including a traditional setting.
CONSUMER BROCHURE: We are featuring our award-winning new RONIS™ sink on the cover with one of our favorites – Grey Goose. This picture demonstrates RONIS’ tremendous versatility and its incredible accessories which earned it a 2009 iF Award. The difference between a showroom catalog and a consumer brochure is that the brochure has less of the SKU/spec details. It’s more of an overview to help consumers select the right products for their home and is a perfect mailer or handout. The showroom catalog is an in-store piece that supports showroom and design professional with more detailed information.
SILGRANIT II BROCHURE: BISCOTTI is the new SILGRANIT II color! A delicious new neutral – BISCOTTI goes with today’s popular counter top colors. (Shown on both faucets and sinks.) Beyond its ultra durable non porous formulation, BLANCO SILGRANIT II is unarguably the largest and most design-oriented collection of colors and styles for composite sinks on the market today.
