Here are the rules for the contests and fundraiser:
1. BLANCO “WATER FOR PEOPLE” PINTEREST CHALLENGE
- Create a Pinterest board with the title “BLANCO -Water for People”
- Pin a minimum of 5 BLANCO products (must include your favorite BLANCO faucet) plus as many images that illustrate the importance and beauty of pure water. This can be images of oceans, lakes, rivers, swimming pools or whatever else inspires you.
- Ask friends and followers to “like” one or more of your images.
- Submit the link to your board no later than 5pm EST on May 15 to blanco@modenus.com
- The board with most “likes” wins an IPad Mini 32G

BLANCO, Poggenpohl and Silestone kicked off the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in New Orleans with a Cajun-styled experience featuring the amazing details that make a kitchen. Nearly 100 designers and editors, including bloggers from the Modenus BlogTourNOLA, attended the “Kitchens Unmasked” event held in Nordic Kitchen’s showroom. BLANCO, Poggenpohl and Silestone kicked off the New York Architectural Digest Home Design Show festivities last week, with a farm-to-table brunch featuring “The new neutrals” in kitchen design. 50 writers and editors, including bloggers from the Modenus BlogTourNYC, attended the event held in Poggenpohl’s Park Avenue showroom. BLANCO launched the architectural MODEX sink in a new SILGRANIT II CINDER color noting that today’s neutrals combine grey, black and brown tones. Silestone also confirmed the demand for updated neutrals and offered that textured patterns add dimension, while Poggenpohl’s latest finishes included warm wood veneers in ash for a transitional look. BLANCO is exhibiting at the the Living Kitchen Trade Show in Cologne, Germany. January 14-17. We are with select members of the BLANCO Design Council and have partnered with Modenus as an official BlogTour sponsor. BLANCO welcomes Modenus BlogTour and Design Councils (U.S. and Canada) to Living Kitchen show in Cologne, Germany
BLANCO and Bosch Home Appliances partnered together to hold a Blogger Retreat May 31-June 1 in the new Bosch Experience and Design Center in Irvine, California. The event was attended by some of the industry’s top design bloggers including members of the BLANCO Design Council. The theme of the event was centered on how European designs are shaping the Modern Kitchen and included interactive sessions on the future of kitchen design, the process of appliance design and a trend panel discussion led by Dwell Magazine’s editor Erika Heet. Bloggers also worked under the guidance of Bosch’s executive Chef Kyle Jakobi to create a California-inspired lunch in the new state-of-the-art Experience Center kitchen. Bosch’s Experience and Design Center covers over 3,000 square feet and is exclusively outfitted with BLANCO sinks and faucets. Other showroom materials include Top Knobs Cabinet Hardware and Wood-Mode cabinetry and Caesarstone surfaces.

BLANCO + Modenus recently held a Tweet Up event at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City to promote water conservation – in particular to raise money through tweets for Water for People. Water for People is a charitable organization that ensures sustainable clean/safe drinking water for all people. Hundreds of tweets raised funds and reached almost one million people during the Champagne and Cupcakes themed event. Modenus also drew names to select one blogger to attend their popular BlogTour in London this fall. BLANCO celebrated the launch of three new collections including the CERANA™ Fireclay Apron Front Sink, CRYSTALLINE™ Hideaway Sink and a new collection of water saving faucets. Prominent N.Y. editors and international design bloggers attended the exclusive kickoff media event for Modenus NY 2012 BlogTour
The kitchen design experts at Poggenpohl and celebrity chef Eric Ripert launched The Eric Ripert Kitchen by Poggenpohl to kickoff Modenus Blog Tour N.Y. 2012. A group of international design bloggers and New York media got an exclusive look at the groundbreaking and eco-friendly kitchen concept. The social media event was sponsored by Poggenpohl, BLANCO and Modenus.com.
The Eric Ripert Kitchen by Poggenpohl demonstrates how the celebrity chef’s own personal vision for a world-class restaurant kitchen can be reinvented for the at-home chef. Over 30 design editors met with the Poggenpohl design team who brought the Ripert concept to life in a beautiful contemporary and eco-friendly design with distinct and functional details for cooking and entertaining at home.
The interactive and educational event also included the launching of innovative products including the BLANCO CERANA Fireclay Apron Front Sink and Poggenpohl’s +ARTESIO Kitchen.

Last night, BLANCO took home an Interior Design BOY (Best of Year) Finalist Award for the CULINA faucet in the Kitchen Fittings/Fixtures category. BLANCO has been recognized by the design community with four Interior Design BOY awards in the last three years for MicroEdge, SOLON, RONIS and now CULINA. (Three of the four awards were BOY Winners.) The editors of Interior Design Magazine post their Merit Finalist selections from a wide field of entries and then BOY Winners are selected by the design community through online voting.
